I got the Lumintop L1 Multi-Function Headlamp because I thought it would work great as both a headlamp and an EDC flashlight, but as an EDC light it has some issues.
It doesn't include a pocket clip, or have a hole for attaching a lanyard.
It's too easy to accidentally activate the button switch (I've had it turn on in my pocket numerous times, even when it was the only thing in there).
The UI is different and annoying (you have to tap the button to turn it on, and hold the button to turn it off, as a tap just changes the brightness).
If it was hold for both on and off it would be more intuitive (and would likely resolve most of the accidental pocket on events).
It only includes a magnetic tail cap, which isn't always desirable.
There's no "moon mode" for lowlight use (and long run times). The low mode is far too bright to use as a, get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, light.
It also doesn't help that the description of the UI on the website is incorrect, so the light doesn't work as described (although the included instruction manual is correct).
The Good:
It's well made. Fit, finish and function are all excellent (tail cap screws on smoothly and the head angle adjusts with only a slight resistance).
Access to "strobe" mode is simple, a quick double-tap from on or off activates the strobe light (further double clicks give you SOS and beacon).
It's similar in size to the "Tool AA" series lights (slightly longer in handheld flashlight mode) and the pocket clip from one of my "Tool AA" lights fit (and the pocket clip includes a lanyard hole).
Conclusion:
If Lumintop could change the UI to press and hold to turn on and off, and include a pocket clip, this would easily be a 4 star product (add moon mode for 5 stars).
Oh, and please fix the UI description on the web site and include the newer 1000mAh 14500 battery (mine came with the older 920mAh).
